NBC NEWS — Kim Kardashian and her husband Kris Humphries reportedly call it quits.

The reality television show star filed for divorce from NBA player Kris Humphries today, just 72 days after tying the knot in August.

Divorce papers list the cause as “irreconcilable differences”.

Kim Kardashian released a statement saying today saying:

"After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
