The historic trial against four former Khmer Rouge leaders continued tuesday in Cambodia. The trial against the four most senior surviving members of Cambodia's murderous Khmer Rouge regime began monday. The trial comes some three decades after the Khmer Rouge's disastrous reign.

The defendants, now all elderly, were among the inner circle of the late Pol Pot, the French-educated architect
of the Khmer Rouge's communist "Killing Fields" revolution. The four are accused of helping murder some 1.7 million people, about a quarter of the country's population.
