It's National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Saturday was National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness day, and many in the Capitol City made it out to Aspirations for free screenings.
The people of Aspirations and and the AIDS Health Care Foundation administered free screenings, and discussions on how to detect HIV.
Dr. Joyce Turner-Keller is the President of Aspirations, and she says her goal is to educate the whole community.
"We do testing at churches, we do testings at fire stations, and then we had hiv testing under the awning at health fairs," said Dr. Turner-Keller.
