NBC News — Hong Kong is socked in by near record pollution levels. The high levels of smog is being blamed on a typhoon that skimmed the city earlier this week. Forecasters say the storm changed the wind's direction trapping the city's air pollution.
Authorities are urging children, elderly people and those with underlying heart and respiratory illnesses not to go outside for long periods of time. Hong Kong has only seen higher pollution levels once back in 2010, that's when a massive sand storm hit the city.
