NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A rise in autoimmune diseases, such as Multiple sclerosis, may be a result of too much salt in our diet.
Researchers at Yale University used mice to understand how salt and genes interact with the immune system.
They found a high-salt diet made more cells associated with the immune system attack the body itself.
Multiple sclerosis genes have already been found to play a role in these diseases; they were the genes responsible for the salt reaction.
