NBC NATIONAL NEWS — There are some benefits to higher gas prices, as hard as that may be to believe.
If you're in the market for a bigger car, like an SUV, sticker prices should fall as gas prices rise.
On the flip side, if you want a more fuel-efficient car, the prices may not go down, but you could save money in the long run with better fuel efficiency.
Also, rising gas prices should coerce American car makers to keep vehicle prices down.
Another upside: you may start to see gas card incentives in the tourism industry, as hotels and restaurant managers try to entice you to travel.
