Hamas has reopened the Gaza Strip's main gateway to the world after reaching an agreement with Egypt. Egypt's caretaker government permanently opened the Rafah border crossing last week. The move ended a four year blockade imposed by Israel and enforced by ousted President Hosni Mubarak.
The Gaza Strip's rulers, led by political party Hamas, shut down the terminal June 5th citing repeated delays. Egypt closed the crossing without notice a day earlier. But the terminal's director said wednesday the crossing was reopened after Hamas reached an unspecified agreement with Israel.
