NBC News — Greece sinks deeper into crisis after efforts to form a coalition government failed. This weekend's elections in Greece have created a stalemate in parliament. Initial efforts to form a new coalition government failed a day after angry voters punished parties backing the country's international bailout.
Greece is in its fifth year of recession and unemployment has spiked to more than 20%. The political party that won the most seats in parliament had first stab at forming a government on monday but failed to find enough support from other parties. Now it's up to the second place finisher to try to put a government together.
