NBC NATIONAL NEWS — A former beauty queen has pleaded no contest to drunk driving charges.
Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih, settled her drunk driving case in a Highland Park, Michigan courtroom Wednesday.
Fakih was escorted by family as she entered the courthouse and stood with her attorneys while entering her plea.
The former Miss USA was pulled over last December for weaving through traffic.
A blood alcohol test revealed her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit in Michigan.
After court proceedings Fakih said she is happy to put the incident behind her.
"You pay your price for making mistakes and you move on and I'm very happy I can put this behind me," she said, "and you know I feel like it was fair offense and now I'm just going to move on and make sure I learn from my lessons."
Fakih was the first Arab-American to win the Miss USA title two years ago.
She faces a maximum of three months in jail at her sentencing next month.
