NBC News — All they can do now is wait. Germany's Munich, France's Annecy and the South Korean city of Pyeongchang all presented their final bids today to host the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Munich presented first and promised the International Olympic Committee to create the first carbon neutral games. Second to present was what Olympic watchers are calling a long shot, France's Annecy. Insiders say the tiny French village in the Alps is too small to host an international event.
Pyeongchang followed and Olympic insiders say they have a slight advantage over their competition. This is the third time the city has presented a bid to the IOC, failing to secure the 2010 and 2014 games. And showing that they were serious, South Korea's president was on hand for the presentation. All three won't have to wait long, at 11 in the morning eastern time, the IOC will announce the host city. Mark your calendars, the 2018 Winter Games can be watched right here on NBC 33.
