NBC News — The editor of the French satirical magazine that published several Prophet Mohammed cartoons this week is now under 24 hour police protection. Police presence was stepped up outside the magazine's headquarters in Paris, and the editor was seen escorted to his office by two bodyguards.
In its latest issue, the magazine featured several caricatures of the prophet including one that showed him naked. The magazine says they published the cartoons to poke fun at the anger over the obscure anti-Islam Youtube video. In 2005, Danish cartoons of Mohammed sparked a wave of protests across the Muslim world in which at least 50 died.
