DPS traffic stop leads to seizure of $3.4 million in marijuana

CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (KVEO) — The Texas Department of Public Safety has seized 7,800 pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop of a tanker truck.
On Tuesday, April 2, a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement trooper pulled over a 1999 truck tractor, that was towing a tanker, for a routine commercial vehicle inspection in San Patricio county. During the troopers inspection he discovered nearly 7,819 pounds of marijuana concealed within the tanker.
The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and DPS investigators continue to looking into incident.
