Preparations for this year's Times Square New Year's Celebration are nearly complete.

This morning, 288 sparkling new Waterford crystal triangles were added to the iconic New Year's Ball.

The additional glass is part of this year's "Let There Be Peace" design on the giant orb.

Included in the crystal is a special triangle engraved with the words "Dick Clark." The 82-year-old broadcast icon hosted the New Year's Eve celebration for more than 40 years before his passing earlier this year.

Today, his wife Kari was on hand to receive the special tribute to her late husband.

“I know Dick would be most appreciative of this and never expect the panel to be in the ball,” stated Kari. “He'll be part of the celebration again which is really amazing.”

This year, Clark will be remembered for his entertainment work in a two hour tribute on New Year's Eve.
