Dalai Lama celebrates birthday

NBC News — Hundreds of followers of Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, celebrated his 77th birth friday in Dharamsala, India. Located in the country's north, Dharamsala is home to thousands of Tibetans living in exile.
Hundreds sang hymns at a Buddhist temple in the town and prayed for the spiritual leader's well-being and good health. The Dalai Lama was born on July 06, 1935, in a hamlet in northeastern Tibet. He was recognized at the age of two as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama.
