Police have charged a Terryville couple with stealing about 15 packages valued at more than $2,500 from door steps around the city.

Officers were sent to Pine Street about 7:30 p.m. Monday for a suspicious vehicle complaint. When they arrived, they found a white pickup truck with New York license plates that matched the description of a truck reportedly used in several thefts in Bristol.

Officers determined the pickup was the one used in the thefts of packages and were able to recover items such as children's toys, electronic game systems and clothing. Police said they recovered about $2,550 in stolen goods.

Police charged Kevin Pinette, 42, and MaryAnn Lamper, 36, both of 126 Main St., Terryville, with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny.

Both were held and are expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Superior Court in Bristol.
