NBC News — A controversial free trade agreement between South Korea and the United States will go into effect next month. South Korea's trade minister announced tuesday that the deal will take effect on March 15th.
The pact was signed about five years ago, but faced tough opposition from trade and farm lobbies in the U.S. and South Korea. Some experts say the deal will increase trade between the two nations by as much as a quarter.
