Chinese writer wins Nobel Prize for literature

Chinese writer Mo Yan won the 2012 Nobel Prize for literature thursday for works which the Nobel Committee said had qualities of quote "hallucinatory realism." The prize is worth $1.2 million.

The Nobel Committee said Mo Yan's hallucinatory realism merged folk tales, history and the contemporary. The literature prize is the fourth of this year's series of prizes. Tomorrow the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will be announced.
