NBC News — Chinese President Hu Jintao held meetings monday with his South Korean and Japanese counterparts in Beijing. Hu was meeting with South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda to discuss a three-way free trade pact.
They hope the pact can help mitigate the effects of the global economic downturn. The talks are expected to be difficult due to decades of rivalry between the three sides.
