A building collapsed on sunday, killing nine people and injuring seven others in east China. The building was on a street in Wuxi City, and was being remodeled when it collapsed early on sunday. The collapse buried 16 people under the rubble.

After nearly 24 hours of rescue efforts, seven were saved and rushed to a hospital. The remaining nine were confirmed to have been killed. Of the 16 people trapped after the collapse, 15 were workers doing the remodeling. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
