NBC News — At least five people are dead after a bomb exploded near a political rally friday in southwest Pakistan. Officials say they expect the death toll to rise because many of the wounded have life threatening injuries.

Security forces quickly sealed off the area while rescue teams transported the injured to a local hospital. Pakistan's prime minister is expected to visit the region later friday afternoon.
