Baton Rouge native becomes flight director for upcoming Mars Rover landing

Pasadena, CA — Keith Comeaux, a native of Baton Rouge, works at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California and is supporting the upcoming Mars Curiosity Rover landing scheduled on the night of August 5.
As the Rover approaches Mars after its 8 1/2 month journey of 354 million miles, Keith is serving as the Team Chief for Cruise/Engineering Operations and will serve as Flight Director during the landing.
Prior to the launch from Cape Canaveral in November of 2011, Keith was the Deputy Systems Manager for Assembly Test and Launch Operations, leading the test team responsible for ensuring that all of the Rover’s systems we’re working properly before the launch.
