NATIONAL NEWS — A new report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveals autism rates are climbing in the U.S.

The study finds about 1 in 88 children will be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), up from 1 in 110.

Autism rates have increased by 78 percent since 2007. Researches attribute some of the jump to the way children are "identified, diagnosed and served in their local communities"

Breaking down the numbers more, girls (1 in 54) are more likely to have autism than boys (1 in 252).
