Thousands of people are waking up in shelters in Louisiana and Mississippi after Isaac's rains prompted more flooding and last minute evacuations.

In Slidell officers rescued 145 people Thursday.

The rain from Isaac had overloaded pumps meant to keep the community above water.

Coroners confirmed two people died in Plaquemines Parish after their home was swallowed by water.

Meanwhile, more than an hour away sheriff's deputies gave about 60,000 people just minutes to get out.

A dam near Lake Tangiopahoa looked like it was about to fail.

State officials prepared to open the dam, and safely reduce the risk.

In Mississippi, even as the rain subsided a new threat emerged.

Tornados there ripped homes apart.

Hundreds of thousands who didn't lose their homes still have no power and likely wont for days.
