Osceola County, MI (WNEM) — A 53-year-old Marion man was arrested for allegedly driving drunk through the midway of a busy fair.
Troopers from the Michigan State Police Mount Pleasant Post were dispatched to the Marion Country Fair Tuesday at about 6:30 p.m. to investigate a possible drunk driver.
Police said workers at the fair called 911 to report an intoxicated subject driving his car through the fair's midway.
At the time, the midway was busy and crowded with people, according to police. Several people at the fair were able to get the driver to stop the car. They took his keys and waited for troopers to arrive.
The driver was identified as a 53-year-old Marion man. Police said a chemical test revealed that his blood alcohol content was more four times the legal limit of 0.08.
The man was evaluated at the Reed City Hospital before being lodged at the Osceola County Jail.
No one was injured.
The fair runs through Saturday in Marion, about 50 miles southeast of Traverse City.
