Al Qaeda linked rebels detonate bomb in Somalia
NBC News — Suspected Al Qaeda linked rebels detonated a truck bomb in the Somali capital tuesday, killing at least 70 people and wounding dozens of others. Witnesses say the truck exploded at the gate of a compound housing government offices in Mogadishu where students and parents had gathered to find out the results of scholarship exams.
Al Shabaab insurgents claimed responsibility for the bombing, it is the Islamist group's most deadly single attack since launching their insurgency in 2007. The attack happened in the small area of the capital under the control of government forces and African Union troops.
