NBC NATIONAL NEWS — One person was killed and 30 were injured in a 104-car pile up along Interstate 25 in Denver Saturday morning. Police said the victim was a female passenger in an orange car crushed by a semi-truck.
The collision occurred just before 10:40 a.m. and stopped traffic across all lanes for nearly five hours.
Witness Travis Rosenbloom, who was not injured in the crash, says traffic was flowing despite the low visibility when the crash happened.
"People were trying to hit their brakes to come to a sudden stop and started smashing into each other in front of me, directly to my right, and behind me," he said. "I was in the far left lane. I personally saw at least six cars smash into each other. Luckily I was over far enough to not get hit."
