Lawmakers are asking the Justice Department to look into monthly debit card fees.

A Vermont lawmaker, along with four other democrats, say they're asking Attorney General Eric Holder to see if the banks broke any laws before announcing the fees. The lawmakers say they want to know if the banks worked together before they introduced the fees.

Just last month Bank of America said they would charge customers five dollars a month to use a debit card. That while Chase and Wells Fargo said they would try out three dollar fees in certain cities.
