Late fees on property taxes now contain a collection fee

East Baton Rouge Parish, La (NBC33) — People living in East Baton Rouge Parish who are late on property taxes could see a new fee.
Property taxes were due December 31st. In addition to any late fees, you'll see a 10 percent ‘collection fee’.
Money from the fee won't go to the parish. Instead, it'll go to a collection agency in New Orleans.
