Kleinpeter opts for paycuts due to rising cost of raw milk

BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Kleinpeter dairy workers are facing a blow to their pocketbooks. That’s because the Louisiana-based dairy announced an across the board two and a half percent pay cut.
NBC33 News learned that the pay cut is happening because the price of raw milk is near $2.50 a gallon. Kleinpeter officials say even management will get a cut in pay, all in an effort to keep their milk prices lower. They also say the pay cuts should only be temporary.
A Kleinpeter rep also tells us they're doing everything they can internally to keep from passing the rising cost of milk on to consumers.
