BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — At the gas pump the news is still discouraging as prices continue to inch towards the $4.00 a gallon mark.

Here in Baton Rouge, according to GasBuddy.com, prices sit at $3.62 a gallon. Though that's only up a penny from last week, but it's way up from last month's average of $3.40.

According to AAA the price for a gallon of gas nationally averages out at $3.76.
