FEMA fund deadline for Tropical Storm Lee victims ends in one week
Louisiana (NBC33) — Louisiana residents have only one week left to submit requests for disaster aid to clean up after Tropical Storm Lee.
Local government agencies, school districts and nonprofit organizations that are seeking aid have until November 27 to apply.
Money is available to a list of parishes, including East and West Feliciana, Terrebonne, and Plaquemines.
FEMA will pay up to 75 percent of the cost of repair work, including debris removal and repairing public buildings.
Even though Tropical Storm Lee left part of the state underwater in early September, FEMA says there wasn't enough damage to private property for the general public to qualify for emergency aid.
