Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — When the Mississippi River peaks, it could put some Baton Rouge landmarks under water.
Right now, it's at the base of the huge Baton Rouge spelled out on the levee wall.
The top of levee sits at around 47 feet, and water is expected to go above that point.
If the river gets as high as expected, in a few weeks, much of downtown Baton Rouge will be under water.
