FORECAST CRESTS ARE BASED UPON RAINFALL THAT HAS OCCURRED ALONG WITH
ANTICIPATED RAIN FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS. ADJUSTMENTS TO THE FORECASTS
WILL BE MADE IF ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL OCCURS.

* AT 8:00 PM SUNDAY THE STAGE WAS 40.1 FEET.
* MAJOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND RECORD FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 35.0 FEET.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE RISING TO A STAGE OF
  44.0 FEET ON FRIDAY MORNING MAY 13TH AND CONTINUE RISING TO A CREST
  NEAR 47.5 FEET ON SUNDAY EVENING MAY 22ND.
* IMPACT...AT 43.0 FEET...SHIPPING AND INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES ARE
  SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECTED. UNPROTECTED LOW-LYING AREAS WILL BE FLOODED
  AND AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS WILL BE IMPACTED ON THE WEST SIDE OF
  THE RIVER. THE CITY OF BATON ROUGE IS PROTECTED BY LEVEES AT THIS
  LEVEL.
* IMPACT...AT 40.0 FEET...THE GROUNDS OF THE OLDER PART OF LOUSIANA
  STATE UNIVERSITY`S CAMPUS BECOME SOGGY. THIS INCLUDES THE AREA
  AROUND THE VETERINARY MEDICINE BUILDING...THE VETERINARY MEDICINE
  ANNEX...THE STADIUM AND BALL FIELDS. THE CITY OF BATON ROUGE AND
  THE MAIN LSU CAMPUS ARE PROTECTED BY LEVEES AT THIS LEVEL.
* FORECAST ASSUMES OPERATION OF BONNET CARRE...BUT NOT MORGANZA.

* FORECAST...THE RIVER IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE RISING TO A STAGE OF 62.1
  FEET ON FRIDAY MORNING MAY 13TH AND THEN CONTINUE RISING TO A CREST NEAR
  65.5 FEET ON SUNDAY MORNING MAY 22ND.
* IMPACT...AT 64.0 FEET...MAJOR FLOODING IS IN PROGRESS. ANGOLA
  LANDING WILL REMAIN UNDER WATER AND FERRY SERVICE WILL BE
  TERMINATED. ALL RIVER ISLANDS, RECREATIONAL CAMPS, AND RIVER BOTTOM
  FARM LAND WILL BE UNDER WATER.
* IMPACT...AT 58.0 FEET...ANGOLA FARMLAND ON THE LEFT BANK BECOMES
  INUNDATED.
* FORECAST ASSUMES OPERATION OF BONNET CARRE...BUT NOT MORGANZA.
