BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) - — Mayor President Kip Holden says a list of local and state offices are watching the water levels in the Missippi and the levees.
That as the forecast is for the river to crest at 47.5 feet on May 21st. That's higher than the record set back in 1927.
Holden says DPW is prepping sandbags for several spots on the levee. That work will start tomorrow.
The lowest point on the levee in Baton Rouge is near Florida Boulevard. That 's just over 47 feet.
