BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) - — As the Mississippi keeps rising, The American Red Cross is trying to recruit as many volunteers as they can. The Red Cross is getting ready if and when they need to open shelters to help those who are evacuated.

Anyone who volunteers has to be trained in the appropriate areas. That's why the push is on now to recruit.
