Levee Boom in place
Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The levee boom has been hauled inland to protect downtown Baton Rouge from the mighty Mississippi.
The boom will top the railroad tracks and levee, from the Hollywood Casino to the bridge.
They are adding critical inches to the levee system, one last buffer between citizens and the river.
Baton Rouge Police want people to know that it is illegal to tamper with the boom and to expect serious consequences if caught.
