BUTTE LA ROSE, LA (NBC33) — The waiting game continues in communities along the Atchafalaya tonight.
The Mandatory Evacuation in Butte la Rose just lifted a few hours ago.
Officials say they'll hold off for another 48 hours to re-asses the water levels and flooding dangers in the area.
For days, its been a mad scramble there, as residents were told they had to be out by tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.
Officials say now the roads will remain open, and the power will stay on.
The news the water levels aren't as high, welcomed by most.
"As long as this house boat floats, I ain't worried about it. If it goes over the levee I'm going with it," said resident Harry Castille
