Mission street shooting victim dies Sunday in hospital
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Travis Polk of Ritterman avenue in Baton Rouge died today from gun shot wounds to the chest after being shot just before midnight saturday on Mission avenue. Police were called to the scene just prior to midnight and found a man slumped in a chair on the porch of property. The 21-year-old Polk was rushed to the hospital with several life threatening gun shot wounds No one saw the shooting but some neighbors did hear it.
"I kept looking around. I went through all my windows and looked. And I saw nothing. Then eventually I came back to the front of the window and I looked again and I saw about 11 or 12 police cars coming up. That's when I turned my attention to the police and found out what you all know," said LeRoy Young, who lives next door.
