Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Bikers from all over Louisiana gathered at the capitol Sunday to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in motorcycle accidents this year.
According to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, motorcycle fatalities are down by 40%.
That's good news for bikers, and today they all came out to show their support and gratitude to lawmakers who've made the highways safer through works such as the Pickholtz act, a law that protects the right of way of motorcyclists.
"We go down really easy. We're only on two wheels so, you know, we just ask them to watch out for us Don't pull out in front of us, don't run us off the road. We're not a bicycle, we're a motorcycle, and we have a liscence just like everyone else does. " says ABATE Biker Grant Miller.
