Voter registration deadline Wednesday, March 5, for April 5th elections

BATON ROUGE (NBC33) — Secretary of State Tom Schedler is reminding Louisianians that the deadline to register to vote in the April 5th municipal primary election is Wednesday, March 5th.
Wednesday is the last day for citizens to register to vote who have never done so as well as voters who would like to make changes to their registration.
Individuals can register to vote online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at www.GeauxVote.com.
In addition, voter registration opportunities are available at the parish’s Registrar of Voters Office, the Office of Motor Vehicles, public assistance agencies, public schools, colleges and libraries and by mail.
Louisianians can also utilize the Secretary of State’s smartphone app, GeauxVote Mobile, to check the status of their registration, review sample ballots and find polling place information.
The April 5th election will be held in the following 42 parishes: Acadia, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Calcasieu, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge, East Carroll, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafourche, LaSalle, Livingston, Madison, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, Richland, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tensas, Union, Vermilion, Vernon, Washington, Webster, West Baton Rouge, West Carroll and Winn.
