Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Louisiana Senator David Vitter has been named “Man of the Year,” just days after making it to a list of the most corrupt congressmen.
The Baton Rouge Republican Party is bestowing the honor on the senator for his work in Washington D.C. and for representing best what the party believes.
Vitter supporters say they really had no one else in mind for the award, which is new this year.
"I am very excited. I am proud because he's our senator, and he represents us in Washington and what the state stands for," said supporter Susie Labry.
Vitter supporters also say he stands for conservatism, small government and family values - all ideals they themselves proudly support.
They also maintain that his appointment to crew's most corrupt list is just a matter of opinion.
