Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — State Treasurer John Kennedy offered up a few plans he thinks could save the state up to a billion dollars.
First, he wants to get rid of unnecessary consulting contracts; right now, the state has 19,000 contracts worth $616 million.
He suggested that each state agency get rid of ten percent of contracts they don't really need.
