Sheriff Sid Gautreaux is hoping to hold on to his seat in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Gautreaux has been sheriff since December 2007. Twenty-seven years before that, Gautreaux served as the Police Chief for the City of Baker. Prior to his work in Baker, Gautreaux was a deputy for the EBR Parish Sheriff's Office.

Gautreaux is a graduate of the F.B.I. Academy and his supporters say his thirty-one years of public service makes him ideal for re-election.

NBC33 News did not conduct the interview with Gautreaux himself because he was ill at the time.

We also conducted an interview with EBR Sheriff candidate Mark Milligan. Click here to view that report.
