Senators continue to comb through the state budget
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — At the Capitol on Thursday the Senate Finance Committee will continue to comb through the State’s operating budget. The proposed budget was passed over to the Senate from the House more than a week ago. The $500 billion budget was passed over to the Senate cobbled together with a mix of one time funds and reductions to several tax exemptions. It falls to the Senate to also find a way to finance the state’s voucher program.
Several controversial handgun bills will also be on the House Floor for their last concurrence before being sent to the Governor’s desk.
