NEW ROADS, LA (NBC33) — Senator David Vitter makes a stop in New Roads this morning to listen to some of you.

The US senator taking a break from Washington to listen to ideas and concerns back here at home. Vitter says it's one of many town hall meetings he's had since taking office.

He says many of the ideas he hears turn into state, even federal laws.

“Lots of cases I take very specific ideas back that become bills to it’s an ongoing, really, wealth of good ideas to think about and develop,” Vitter explained.

Today's town hall brought up everything from concerns of Internet piracy laws to illegal immigrants in Louisiana.
