Port Allen Council calls special meeting Monday to replace mayor
PORT ALLEN, LA (NBC33) — Port Allen City Council has called a special meeting for Monday, Dec. 16.
The purpose of the meeting is to try appointing a replacement mayor for Deedy Slaughter, who was voted out of office.
So far, council members haven’t been able to come to an agreement on who should replace Slaughter.
If they can’t come to an agreement on Monday, it will be up to Governor Bobby Jindal to appoint someone to finish Slaughter’s term.
