The state has released a report outlining ways to save the Louisiana coastline.

The 2012 Coastal Master Plan will move toward restoring and protecting the coast over the next 560 years, and includes 145 projects.

The price tag for the plan totals $50 billion. State leaders say that the plan won’t affect the state budget as much because some of that money will be coming from BP.

A previous plan was approved back in 2007, but this plan has a list of changes and improvements.

The next step in moving forward is to get voter input. Three meetings will be held across the state later this month.

It'll then to go the state legislature in March to be approved.
