Local reaction over Governor Jindal's political future
BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal announced he supports Texas Governor Rick Perry for the GOP Presidential Nomination. Jindal made his endorsement official on Monday, Sept. 12 at the Republican debate in Tampa.
The announcement left many Louisianans wondering what does that mean for Jindal's role as governor of Louisiana. NBC33 News spoke with people in Baton Rouge about Jindal's political future, and if the governor's latest endorsement set Jindal up for a national office.
"He doesn't mind saying what he thinks," Wayne Blount, Baton Rouge resident, said. "He has been in Washington before helping finance the country. I just think he'll be good."
"I didn't like him as governor. I wouldn't want him as vice-president for sure," Aniece Galloway commented in Baton Rouge. "I don't think he is very good. He costs us money."
So far, Governor Bobby Jindal has not officially accepted any offers nor suggested that he will run for national office.
