People in Port Allen will have to wait a little longer to find out who will be curbing crime in their city. Four men were initially gunning for police chief title, but now it's down to two.

This past weekend Interim Police Chief Ken Bates took in nearly 46 percent of the vote.

He’ll run against Eric "Super Cop" Frank who pulled in 33 percent of the vote.

The two men will battle it out for the top spot in a runoff election that will be held on April 21, 2012.

The next police chief will replace the former top cop Fred Smith.

Smith was found guilty back in October 2011 on a list of charges, including mail and wire fraud.

He was one of several on trial in the federal corruption sting called operation blighted officials.
