The League of Women Voters of Louisiana has launched a new online resource to help people become informed through the fall elections. The site includes background information on all statewide elections, Board of Elementary & Secondary Education (BESE) candidates, and constitutional amendments.

“Every voter wants to feel prepared for the choices they face in the voting booth,” Thetis Cusimano, president of the state League, explained in a press release, “but sometimes it’s difficult to cut through the clutter and get to the real facts.”

Taking the concept one step further, the site also includes a list of questions that were complied by the League of Women Voters. All candidates will be given a list of the questions to be answered no later than October 2, 2011. Their answers will then be posted on the site.

NBC33 News will have full election coverage of the primary election on October 22, 2011 as well as the runoff to be held on November 19, 2011.
